| Description | Brick red colored plastic container to hold playing cards. Top can be converted into a base that allows the container to spin. The object is given a woven basket look with a celebrity endorsement by popular band leader Xavier Cugat. Under the top lid is an embossed caricature (the same as that on the lid of the box) of Cugat, his Chihuahua dog “Pepito” with his signature. The container is in original cardboard box packaging which carries the text: “The Cugat "Basquette". The Canasta tray that has EVERYTHING "Swing It And Play." Cugat’s Way. A piece of the box is missing, torn away to provide a profile of Cugat and the box. The missing piece had the text “America's Finest Canasta Tray.” The set originally contained two decks of canasta cards. |
