| Object Name | Tray |
| Description | French Ivory vanity tray. |
| Dimensions | 6" x 12" |
| Material | Cellulose Nitrate |
| Manufacturing Process | Edward Chauncey Worden (1911) describes the process: “A blank of celluloid intended to be worked into a tray is placed in the die and pressed as shown. It is advisable to cut the outer edge of the sheet flaring, as the preliminary definement of the edge eliminates subsequent forming or trimming, and adds to the ornate appearance of the flaring rim. The die or mold is heated either before insertion of the blank or by steam attachment, pressure.” |
